Portable Worlds Workshop a great success!

Nine participants from across the state who ranged in background from emerging filmmakers to high school teachers, learnt how to create, encode and transfer content onto their mobile phones.

Lisa Harms and Ben Jones were inspiring trainers, with deep understandings of both the commercial and creative potentials of mobile technology.

"The workshop was the best professional learning I’ve had in ages. I learned so much that will be really useful to me in my teaching. I really appreciated the quality of the presenters – they were fantastic, and clearly knew their stuff. It was also really beneficial to me as an IT teacher to get an arts perspective on things as well, that will help me to provide a more rounded education to my students."

Fullness of flight

So here we are in the midst of the first weekend of workshops for the Gravity Project. There are four towns currently participating in different ways to this very real but almost imaginary exchange between us.

Workshops and wandering, squeezing in through the ether of technology to communicate with those not immediately around us,
and talking in quiet and loud voices, expressing through our bodies and line work to those who ARE, immediately, around us.

This project has opened its wings out wide and is flying with no hands holding on. It is slow breathing, and feeling the weight of its body pressing downwards into the ground. Gravity. Where are we going to take this thing and who is coming? You?

Hello Sarah at the Gravity Project. Gravity - falling to the ground, falling into technology, feeling the weight of this new online world... it's more about writing a note on your blog. Lucy
